Green light for popcorn, chips, beer and cola at the cinema and at the stadium. But from 10 March.

This is foreseen by an amendment approved in the Social Affairs Committee of the Chamber, where the decree of January 7 is being discussed which introduced the vaccination obligation for the over 50s and the super pass for the over-50s at work.

It will be possible to "consume food and drinks also in theatrical halls, concert halls, cinemas, in entertainment and live music venues, in other similar venues and in all places where sporting events and competitions are held". Also from 10 March it will be possible to return to visit family members hospitalized for 45 minutes a day.

From 1 March, on the other hand, the capacity in stadiums and arenas increases, respectively to 75% and 60%.

All interventions that go in the direction announced by the government of gradually reopening the country, in conjunction with the collapse of infections and hospitalizations, and now that we are also beginning to see a decline in deaths (-16% on a weekly basis).

The real test will come on March 31, with the expiry of the state of emergency which should not be extended. “As the state of emergency disappears, all amendments must logically disappear”, says Salvini, referring to the obligation of the Green pass.

The debate in the government is open between those who ask for it to stop from the end of March and those who want to extend its use until June 15, the day on which the vaccination obligation for over 50s expires. A decision will only be made close to 31 March.

Another knot, the use of the mask indoors. Will the obligation be abolished as early as March 31st or only gradually, providing for its use at least in the most at-risk areas such as discos?
