Eighth day of searches, in the Ancona area, to find Brunella Chiù and Mattia Luconi , the woman and the child who are missing after the flood that hit the Marche province on 15 September last.

In action ground teams and divers between Barbara and Senigallia.

Mattia, 8 years old, son of the pharmacist Silvia Mereu - originally from Urzulei -, who yesterday was discharged from the hospital , was with his mother when, both of them got out of the car, he was dragged away by the fury of the water; Brunella had been overwhelmed by the flood of the Nevola river.

Firefighters, mountain rescue, civil protection, carabinieri, financial police, in all there are over 120 units at work.

The divers depart today from the area of the Ponte di Bettolelle (hamlet of Senigallia), after the area where the Nevola and the Misa meet, to head towards the mouth of the Misa in Senigallia. Molecular dogs could be employed on the ground instead .

It will then be a Technical Commission , set up by the Marche Region, to carry out "an investigation aimed at ascertaining the regularity and appropriateness of the procedures adopted and the behaviors adopted by the competent organizational structures of the Regional Civil Protection" for the flood. This was announced by the governor Francesco Acquaroli.
