These are hours of anxiety in Miane (Treviso) for the fate of Susanna Recchia, a 45-year-old woman who disappeared from her home yesterday together with her three-year-old daughter. The woman's car, a white Volkswagen Tiguan, was found empty in the late afternoon, in Covolo di Pederobba (Treviso), near the Vidor bridge that crosses the Piave river.

The missing girl was reported by her partner, who had gone to her house to pick up his daughter, but found neither the little girl nor her mother. He then alerted the police, and the alarm was also sent to the Prefecture of Treviso.

The woman, it was later discovered in the evening, left a five-page letter on a table at home, in which she announced her intention to kill herself. It was her partner who handed the papers over to the police.

According to what was learned from qualified sources, the 45-year-old was experiencing a situation of strong psychological distress, accentuated by the fact that she was separating from her partner. Inside the white Volkswagen, investigators did not notice any significant traces. It was parked in the forecourt of a bar, a few dozen meters from the entrance to the bridge. The woman left her cell phone and wallet with documents at home.

Searches are underway throughout the province and in the surrounding areas with checks through public and private video surveillance systems and automatic license plate recognition devices. After the discovery of the car, underlines the regional councilor for civil protection Gianpaolo Bottacin, «the search for mother and daughter will focus on the area». The woman is about 1 meter and 65 centimeters tall, of normal build, has brown curly hair, brown eyes and two tattoos on her right shoulder.

The Prefecture of Treviso issued a warning to anyone who saw her and activated the protocol for the search for missing persons. Throughout the day, rescuers have been scanning the area from which she is said to have left. Civil Protection, firefighters, volunteers and police officers are participating in the searches. In the area where the car was found, video camera footage is also being examined to identify the possible movements of the mother and daughter.
