Sniffer dogs and investigators were at work at dawn this morning in Rome, searching the underground tunnels beneath the Casa del Jazz for the remains of Judge Paolo Adinolfi, who disappeared 31 years ago. Operations are focusing on the cultural space on Via Cristoforo Colombo, built on a property confiscated from organized crime and once owned by Enrico Nicoletti, treasurer of the Banda della Magliana.
The decision to begin excavations was made by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, following new investigations that have rekindled the hypothesis that the remains of the magistrate, who disappeared in 1994, may be located there. Carabinieri and police are inspecting the previously unexplored underground tunnels.
"Now we just have to wait. There's nothing more we can say," commented Lorenzo Adinolfi, son of the missing judge, this morning, discreetly following the investigators' work.
