The Milan Review Court rejected the appeal against the custody order in prison of the Pavia investigating judge presented by the lawyers of Gabriel Alon Abutbul, soldier of a US contractor agency who allegedly helped Shmuel Peleg, grandfather of Eitan , the child the only survivor of the Mottarone tragedy to kidnap his grandson.

The lawyers Cataldo Intrieri and Adolfo Scalfati in asking the judges to revoke the provision had argued, among other things, that the danger of repetition of the crime "because the child has returned to Italy " and the lack of a preordained plan have disappeared. for a kidnapping.

The lawyers Intrieri and Scalfati, who received the rejection order in the late morning and, therefore, confirming the order, are waiting to read the reasons - the filing is expected in about fifteen days - to assess whether to appeal or not.

"We regret - declared the defenders - and we will continue to work hoping that the Italian judiciary will contribute to lowering the tone, favoring reconciliation between the protagonists of this affair".

Abutbul, a 50-year-old Israeli citizen, on 25 November in Cyprus, where he resides, was blocked and then released from prison but with the obligation to sign against the payment of a bail, following a European arrest warrant in the investigation of the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office for aggravated kidnapping, abduction and detention abroad of a minor and appropriation of the passport of the

child.

Another hearing for the procedure on possible extradition is scheduled for January 7th in Cyprus.
