They deny having killed Gabriele Maffeo, the 33-year-old whose body was found in a rubbish bin in Biella on Saturday evening. They are the four arrested people who, before the investigating judge, told their version: Maffeo - guest of a recovery facility from which he had moved away - died of an illness or an overdose.

Three men and a woman ended up in handcuffs on charges of attempted murder and suppression of a corpse: Alessandro Solina, 32 years old, from Candelo (Biella), Simone Perra, 24 years old, Giuseppe Bonura, 42 years old, from Andorno (Biella ) and his partner Marina Coda Zabetta, 34 years old.

A person claimed to have seen them moving between the dumpster and a clearing near the houses.

The 33-year-old had spent Friday evening with Bonura and Zabetta in the house in the Chiavazza district. The couple, perhaps under the influence of drugs, would not have immediately noticed Maffeo's death. Then she would have panicked thinking of moving the body from the house involving Perra and Solina.

The four suspects also said that the bruises found on the victim's body were the result of the body being moved post-mortem.

Now all that remains is to wait for the autopsy results.
