A 20-day-old baby of Nigerian nationality arrived lifeless at the Tor Vergata hospital in Rome.

Based on what has been learned, the mother - with the baby in her arms - stopped a police patrol to ask for help. Then the desperate rush to the emergency room, where, unfortunately, the doctors' attempts to save the child's life were in vain.

It is not excluded that the death is linked to a hemorrhage, a consequence of a homemade ritual circumcision.

The woman was taken to the barracks for questioning, while the Velletri prosecutors ordered an autopsy.
