The detention order issued on Saturday against Mariano Cannio, the 38-year-old in prison in Poggioreale on charges of killing Samuele, the 4-year-old boy who fell from the balcony of his house in Naples, was confirmed.

This morning the validation hearing took place during which the suspect made partial admissions regarding what happened. His lawyer, Mariassunta Zotti, maintains strict confidentiality on the revelations of his client. To be evaluated also if the man, who suffers from mental problems, at the moment of the tragedy was capable of understanding.

THE RECONSTRUCTION - Last Friday, in an apartment in Via Foria, there were little Samuele, his mother who was eight months pregnant and Cannio, a domestic worker. It appears that the 38-year-old and the child were on the balcony, while the mother at that moment had walked away for a few moments. "Suddenly I took him in my arms and went out onto the balcony ... when I reached the outside I leaned over and dropped the baby. I felt dizzy. I immediately heard screams coming from below and I was scared aware of being the cause of what was happening ... ". Then: "I fled home and went to eat a pizza at Sanità". And the police tracked him down to his home.
