Chiara Petrolini has been sentenced to 24 years and three months. The decision was made after just over three hours of deliberation by the Parma Assize Court, presided over by Judge Alessandro Conti, in the trial of the 22-year-old from Traversetolo accused of the murders of two newborns born on May 12, 2023, and August 7, 2024, and then buried in her home garden.

The two newborns died shortly after birth, following undisclosed pregnancies. They were then buried in the garden of the home where the young woman is under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

At the hearing on March 13, the Prosecutor's Office had requested a 26-year sentence.
