Carabinieri at Sgarbi's house, seized the seventeenth-century painting by Rutilio Manetti

The Carabinieri of the Heritage Protection Unit have subjected to evidentiary seizure, on the basis of an activity delegated by the Macerata Prosecutor's Office, the painting attributed to Rutilio Manetti, seventeenth-century Sienese, "The Capture of Saint Peter", in the availability of the Undersecretary of Culture Vittorio Sgarbi, under investigation for money laundering cultural heritage.

The military searched three homes of the art critic, who denies all charges and who spontaneously handed over the painting. The seizure, it is specified, is a necessary act to carry out all the checks on the painting.
