The former senator of the 5 Star Movement Bartolomeo Pepe, a keen supporter of the no vax movement, died of Covid.
This is what is learned from parliamentary sources of the Movement. Bartolomeo Pepe, 59, was hospitalized in intensive care at the Cotugno hospital in Naples for bilateral interstitial pneumonia caused by the SarsCov2 virus.
He arrived at the hospital last Saturday in critical condition, which forced doctors to intubate him immediately.
Bartolomeo Pepe was elected to the Senate with the Movement in 2013, then broke with the grillini and moved to the Autonomie group until the end of the legislature.
During his parliamentary mandate he had tried to organize a screening of the film Vaxxed, an anti-vaccine propaganda documentary, but had to give up due to numerous protests. He recently called citizens' fears of Covid a "ridiculous hysteria".
