Constitution and protection of the landscape, with the writing of a Sardinian teacher, but also atomic, war, technology, digital, silence and imperfection. These are the topics proposed for the first test to the 526,317 students (12 thousand Sardinians) who are taking their final exams starting today.

Sardinia confirms itself again this year as the most "severe" region with aspiring high school graduates: at a national level, in fact, only 3.6% were rejected and the island, with 7.4% of those not admitted, is due to detachment the Italian region with the most failures.

The traces

Among the proposed tracks we also talk about the Constitution with a text by Maria Agostina Cabiddu (professor, originally from Urzulei, of Public Law at the Polytechnic of Milan) dedicated to the importance of our Charter. In the work published in the magazine of the Italian Constitutionalists Association, the value of the artistic and cultural heritage is reflected on and the intuition of the founding fathers to place the promotion of cultural development and scientific research among the fundamental principles of the Charter is defined as "far-sighted". and landscape protection.

Then there is the poet Giuseppe Ungaretti with "Pellegrinaggio" , which is part of the Allegria collection: a poem that draws inspiration from the experience lived by Ungaretti during the First World War. And Luigi Pirandello: in the text taken from the novel “Quaderni di Serafino Gubbio editore” from 1925, the theme of technological progress is addressed and the possible effects are reflected on.

Rita Levi Montalcini again with the Praise of Imperfection, where the Nobel Prize-winning scientist addresses the question of imperfection as a distinctive and valuable element. Starting from the passage and starting from their own experiences, knowledge and readings, the student is asked to reflect on what meaning the praise of imperfection can have in contemporary society.

There is also the historian Giuseppe Galasso , who in the "History of Europe" invites graduates to reflect on the use of the atomic bomb and the Cold War, and "Rediscovering silence" by the journalist Nicoletta Polla Mattiot who talks about the peculiar functions of silence and the benefits it provides to communication, and of the relationship between speech, silence and thought. While a writing by Maurizio Caminito "Selfie profiles and blogs" from 2014 opens up the importance and meaning of the diary in the digital age.

The first test, the same for everyone, ascertains both the mastery of the Italian language (or of the different language in which teaching takes place) and the expressive, logical-linguistic and critical skills of the students. You have a maximum of 6 hours available.

Greeting messages

«You are the future of our nation - the wish of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during a live broadcast on Skuola.net - and I am sure that you will demonstrate your value. Italy believes in you, good luck." For the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara , who revealed that he got 56/60 in his exams, «maturity is a moment of transition and therefore still has a meaning because it is a break between a past which is still that of adolescence and a future where we become mature, adult, fully responsible citizens."
