52-year-old worker falls into a road excavation
The dynamics are yet to be clarified, the body remained half buried
Tragedy this morning at a road construction site , where a 52-year-old worker died after falling into an excavation .
It happened in via dei Dorini in Sant'Alessio, on the north-western outskirts of the city of Lucca .
The accident occurred during the construction of a sewer system , but the dynamics are still to be clarified: the body remained buried in the excavation only for the lower part .
According to what we learn , another worker attempted to save him but failed . When the paramedics arrived on site there was unfortunately nothing left to do.
Lucca's ambulance and an ambulance attended the scene. Initially, the air ambulance was also activated but, given the confirmation of the death, the intervention was unfortunately no longer necessary.
In Sant'Alessio, the police and hygiene and safety prevention operators in the workplace are also present on the construction site.
