A woman died at the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome after feeling ill following liposuction surgery in a private practice.
The victim is a 47-year-old woman originally from Ecuador , who was rushed to hospital during the night between Sunday and Monday.
After the incident, the Rome Prosecutor's Office opened a case for manslaughter.
From what we understand, three people have been registered in the proceedings, coordinated by the additional prosecutor Sergio Colaiocco: a doctor, an anesthetist and a nurse .
The structure where the intervention took place, in the Torrevecchia area, has been placed under sequestration .
This facility, Ansa reports, had been without authorization for 13 years and the doctor under investigation has a criminal record for injuries related to operations that took place in 2006 and 2018. He had in fact been reported by other patients who had undergone liposuction and cosmetic surgery.
