A two-year-old girl was attacked and injured by a pit bull in Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the province of Bari.

The attack occurred on the street. The dog, it turns out, belonged to a neighbor of the little girl. The attack was reportedly stopped by the girl's father.

The little girl suffered facial injuries and was taken to the Bari Polyclinic, where she underwent surgery and had her wounds stitched up.

Despite the shock, the little girl's life is not in danger and is now hospitalized in the Plastic Surgery ward, where she is undergoing antibiotic therapy . The Carabinieri are investigating the case.
