24-year-old worker hit and killed by a car while regulating traffic

Hit and killed by a car while he was regulating traffic following a road accident.

Tragedy this morning in Lamezia Terme, along the road that leads from State Road 280 to the airport: the victim, a 24-year-old resident of San Pietro Apostolo (Catanzaro) worked for a company that carries out road services on behalf of Anas.

The accident occurred near a roadway narrowing established to allow for asphalt resurfacing work.

The driver of the car immediately stopped to help the boy, his position is now being examined by the Carabinieri and Traffic Police, who are investigating under the directives of the Lamezia Terme Prosecutor's Office.

In particular, we are evaluating the speed with which the driver of the hitting car was proceeding and whether the reporting of the previous accident, as well as the narrowing of the road to allow the road resurfacing works, had been implemented correctly.
