Perhaps the verdict of the commission on the possible exclusion of Volotea from the tender called by the Region for Sardinian air connections will arrive today.

The Spanish low cost, which presented the best economic offers, risks being left out due to some flaws in the documents sent to the Department of Transport. First of all, the company name - that is the name and type of company - of the company was not indicated. A condition that in the announcement is indicated as fundamental ("penalty of exclusion"). And not even a copy of the identity card of manager Michele Taucer, who signed the offer, was attached.

Two trivial shortcomings that could pave the way for the Ita state newco.

Only these two airlines out of the twelve invited responded to the call (in addition to the two competing also Ryanair, EasyJet, Blue Air, Vueling, Danish Air Transport, Blue Panorama, Neos, Air Malta, Wizz Air and Tajaran Jet). The envelopes with the proposals were opened yesterday by the regional manager of the maritime and air transport sector Delfina Spiga, also responsible for the procedure. The actual evaluation will start in these hours.

THE PROPOSALS - Twelve packages have arrived in the offices: two offers for each of the six routes to be entrusted. Cagliari-Rome, Cagliari-Milan, Alghero-Rome, Alghero-Milan, Olbia-Rome, Olbia-Milan.

Volotea presented the best economic offers, with discounts of 23.5% to manage the routes in the Cagliari and Olbia airports and 21.5% in the Alghero airport. The "discounts" on the Ita auction base are more contained: the only real head-to-head is on the Cagliari-Milan line, where he proposed a -23%. The offer on Olbia-Linate is also close: -21%. In the other races the discounts range from -3 to -12%. Overall, the Spanish low cost would manage the service with 3 million euros less than its rival.

On errors Volotea, which participated in the opening of the envelopes via videoconference - the only one to participate in attendance was Ita, who delegated a lawyer -, proposed to immediately correct its position. But the tender commission will decide on this point in the next few hours. Meanwhile, it remains impossible to plan a trip from 15 October onwards.

ITA READY TO TAKE OFF - With Ita's participation in the tender for subsidized flights to Sardinia, it is assumed that everything is in order and is successful according to the Government's program.

But two weeks after the fateful date that will mark the entry into the national skies of the new state-owned company, the risk of a postponement, perhaps of a few weeks, is not entirely averted. Even if the hypothesis is not in the thoughts of the leaders of the newco, who are confident about the departure in the middle of next month.

"Absolutely, Ita must leave on October 15 for the simple reason that Alitalia no longer flies from October 15", the words of the executive president Alfredo Altavilla on the sidelines of the hearing in the Chamber: "There are no possible alternatives: everything must be done to start".
