After attending Cagliari's training session this morning at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini , President Tommaso Giulini flew to Milan to receive an award at the gala presentation of the third Italo Galbiati Trophy, named after the historic former player and coach. For the Rossoblu, this recognition is tied to their victory in the last Coppa Italia Primavera and their work in the youth sector. "It's a pleasure to receive this award; it brings prestige to the work of Cagliari's youth sector over the years," he expressed his satisfaction when interviewed by Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. "We've restarted with Pisacane as coach, with many young players in the first team. Ours is one of the youngest in the league, with eight players from the youth sector and four Sardinians: it's a great success for us."

Cagliari has based its current squad on young players. "It's not easy to do, because it's risky in such a competitive league, but I think the manager is doing well," Giulini recalls. "We've made very few mistakes so far, and we hope to keep it up until the end, given how difficult it is. Since I started eleven years ago, I've always tried to have a core group of Italians in the squad. I think it's crucial for the locker room and the fans. This year, perhaps, there are more of them, but that's the result of manager Angelozzi's summer decisions."

As for individuals, the discussion inevitably turns to Marco Palestra, one of the best performers. "He's an extremely interesting player," says Giulini. "We're the ones who relaunched Bellanova during a difficult time, making a financial profit. We're working well on Palestra: he's on loan from Atalanta, but the manager wanted him so much this summer that we ultimately decided to take him on, even if it's on loan . We see great potential in him and hope he continues to perform as well as he has so far."

In closing, Giulini turned his attention to goalkeepers. "I like to remember Caprile, after his first call-up to the national team. I'm very happy about goalkeepers; remembering Italo Galbiati, I played goalkeeper in AC Milan's youth academy. Having launched first Cragno, then Vicario, and now Caprile gives me great satisfaction: I hope Elia has the same amazing career as Vicario ."
