The skeletons of two new victims re-emerge from the excavations of Pompeii .

The discovery, which took place during an excavation in the Insula dei Casti Amanti , certifies that it was not only the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD that caused the death of the inhabitants of the area but also a concomitant earthquake . The two, who died during the earthquake, were found under the rubble of a wall which collapsed during the final phase of sedimentation of the lapilli.

"The techniques of modern excavation - explains the director of the Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel - help us to better understand the hell that completely destroyed the city of Pompeii in two days, killing many inhabitants".
