They wanted to comb the eagles of Mont'Albo with blows of wind turbines. They wanted to flay the sky and the landscape with impunity, the one set between the penal colony of Mamone and the Bitti mountains, a stone's throw from the very windy Piano D'Ertilia and Terenass. They wanted to plant on those untouched ridges a veritable jungle of latest generation wind turbines, 228 meters high, 76-storey steel skyscrapers. They wanted, indeed. However, business dreams in the land of Barbagia were shattered like the blindfolded crash of the mistral on the walls of the white mountain.

Dream & Destiny

First united by a common dream, to invade the peaks of Bitti, and now united by a common destiny, to succumb to an opinion without appeal from the national commission for environmental impact assessment. They have also tried by all means to appeal to the procedures "kissed" by the fortunes of the Pnrr, but have not managed to overwhelm the outcome: rejected, both, without hesitation. Andreas Bjorn Chollet, German from Paderborn, on the border between North Rhine and East Westphalia, legal representative of the wind company Wpd, and Josef Gostner, director of the Green Energy Sardegna 2 wind farm, father and owner of the better known Fri. El., will not cross the pass of Tepilora. In the endless list of projects presented for the wind invasion of Sardinia, their plans were archived with a seraphic opinion: negative. We were disappointed, the Germans and Bolzano. They were convinced that flattening the altitudes of the internal areas of the island would have been a walk in the park, a climb to be "descended" with promises of work and rich prizes. It went badly for him. The judgments of the Via commission are trenchant, as are those of the regional bodies, from the Departments of the Environment and Landscape, to reaching scientists from all over the world unleashed in defense of the cosmic silence that for millions of years has been wedged in the deep arteries of this land, between Lula and Bitti, passing through the mine of Sos Enattos. Certainly Einstein and the Telescope dedicated to him played a role in this resounding rejection, but the force of nature and the landscape were no different. For the Germans, those of the Wpd, the rejection provision has already been decreed and published, that of the gentlemen who have come from Bolzano has already been officially announced in the maze of the Commission.

German & Bolzano

Both, the German and the Bolzano boy, have known it for days, so much so that they wasted no time. Defying the curse of the "raging wind" told by Deledda, the Nobel Grace of Sardinia, the two strangers ran to Piazza del Carmine, in the heart of Cagliari, in front of the Regional Administrative Court. With appeals as quick as they are desperate, they have presented the firmest condemnation for that rejection which they, having come from the Dolomites or the German "Alps", do not want to accept in any way.

Bad grace in someone else's land

At all costs they want to drive those cyclopean shovels into the skylines of Bitti, Lula, Onanì, forever piercing that silence that sinks into that rock. They don't care about the ambitions of a territory leaning towards a project that could put Sardinia at the center of the universe, leaning towards listening to gravitational waves. It is that bad grace in walking on someone else's land that leaves us dumbfounded in the face of those procedural documents just filed with the Sardinia TAR with which the Germans and Bolzano residents would like to overturn a multiple negative judgment loaded with environmental, naturalistic and landscape values.

Full wind

They care little about the Einstein Telescope, the Bonelli eagles that repopulate those peaks, the intrepid and exclusive landscapes sculpted in Grazia's novels. The goal for you gentlemen is clear, to spin the blades and a blaze of state incentives. Wind full throttle, money in bags. The Sardinian Tar knows the subject like few others, if only for having made jurisprudence in an avalanche of sentences that have reaffirmed concepts and rules, recalling that the Landscape is not only an aesthetic but also a Constitutional value, just as the statutory powers are not they are a tinsel, and above all, the environmental good cannot be subjected to any other interest, least of all the purely economic one of some company intent on making money at the expense of the supreme public good.

Sculpted sentences

Concepts reiterated and sculpted in sentences recorded in the annals of law that have resisted any level of judgement. The clash, however, now moves to the austere and authoritative halls of the Administrative Court. Between the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, the wind will blow hard in Piazza del Carmine. The judges wasted no time in immediately setting the precautionary hearings requested by the wind power lords. In chronological order, the first, the one dedicated to the appeal of the Germans of the Wpd and to the claim to immediately suspend the refusal measure of the Via Commission, will be held on December 21st. Not even the Bolzano citizens of Green Energy Sardegna 2, the branch of Fri-El dedicated to the Bitti mountains, will be able to cross the Tar gate.

Christmas hearings

For them the judges have set the hearing for the "precaution" next January 12. To counter the claims of the "eagle combers" there will be the Sardinian regional Attorney's Office, which should be in the process of forming itself, and the State Attorney's Office itself. In the judgment, however, there could be the daring situation that the Germans form themselves against the people of Bolzano and vice versa. Forgetting that they were in Sardinia, and each thinking they were at home, they had decided to stack their shovels one above the other. A clash already consumed in Rome, which could now be resubmitted to the Sardinia Tar. After all, for a little wind, these gentlemen are ready for anything.
