Instead of thinking about real priorities , regional policy "gives precedence to a law on mushroom picking in Sardinia ". Roberto Deriu , a regional councilor in the Pd quota, said he was "amazed" by the circumstance, who presented numerous amendments (about a hundred) to the bill regulating the collection of spontaneous epigean mushrooms and which provides for the introduction of a card and a daily limit on collection. This is the central theme of the work scheduled for the highest Sardinian assembly in the session tomorrow, October 26th.

“I am against this proposal based on premises that are not supported by verified and proven data - explains Deriu -. I ask that the law be sent back to the Commission to verify the toxicological data, to have a serious scientific opinion on the damage that the species receive from their collection and to identify non-bureaucratic and non-fiscal ways to regulate the matter ”.

Deriu also adds: "It would be crazy to build yet another bureaucratic sideshow at this stage rather than thinking about companies closing due to Covid debts, labor costs, stratospheric bills, while public education structures collapse, while regional health goes to pieces, while the shepherds take to the streets, while the majority in the Council have been experiencing a creeping and paralyzing crisis for months ”.
