The first press conference in Ponte di Legno was led by two Cagliari veterans, Alessandro Deiola and Gabriele Zappa. "It's a great feeling," they both explained. "For me, it's a dream come true," Deiola added. Zappa admitted: "In the first two seasons, I still hadn't understood what it meant to wear this jersey. Now I've learned to appreciate the fans' feelings, especially on away games. It's a pleasure to have people cheering us on during matches."

The key word is enthusiasm. And for Deiola, it's a special feeling to be reunited with a former teammate like Fabio Pisacane as a coach: " He was my first roommate, on my first trip to Serie B in my first season as a pro . We immediately had a great bond; I know his values and his demands. I'll be available, like everyone else."

Zappa is also ready for new battles , having turned down calls from Lecce and Cremonese: "Cagliari is my home for me. I'll always give 120% for this shirt, as I always have . And this year I hope to be able to provide a few more assists..."
