Cagliari continues its string of contract renewals for its young players, who were key figures last season with the Primavera side that won the Coppa Italia and are now an integral part of the first team. Midfielder Joseph Liteta, born in 2006, has signed a contract extension until June 30, 2030. He follows Nicola Pintus , who reached an agreement last week until 2029.
Liteta, born in 2006, received a senior call-up to Zambia during the recent international break. He joined the Rossoblu a year ago from local club Atletico Lusaka and has played 33 games, scoring one goal and assisting one assist, for Pisacane's Primavera side, who then recruited him to the first team. He remains available for Cagliari's Under-20 team, currently coached by Francesco Pisano , with whom he has already played in all four Primavera 1 Championship matches and the Primavera Super Cup final.
Against Parma the day before yesterday, he was called up to the first team for the first time and sat on the bench. With Cagliari, where he attended his pre-season training camp, Liteta wears the number 27 jersey . "He will continue his development, working regularly with the first team while remaining available to the Under-20s," the Rossoblu club announced.
Cagliari Calcio has also reached an agreement for the first professional contracts of Andrea Cogoni and Nicola Grandu, both born in 2006 and key players with the Rossoblu Under-20 team, where they are captain and assistant, respectively. Both have signed contracts until June 30, 2027, with an option for one (Cogoni) and two additional seasons (Grandu) in the club's favor.
