The coach will be without his seven internationals (Alen Sherri, Adam Obert, Alessandro Romano, Daniel Maldini, Alieu Fadera, Joseph Liteta, and Juan Rodríguez) and captain Alessandro Deiola, who underwent surgery on a knee problem in Nuoro on Monday .

Rayo Vallecano, coached by Beñat San José, are twelfth in La Liga with eight points from seven games and last season reached the Conference League final, losing to Crystal Palace. In their last match before the break, they drew 1-1 away to Osasuna .

The friendly between Rayo Vallecano and Cagliari counts towards the tenth edition of the Vallecas Trophy : tickets can be purchased at the main ticket office (the Madrid club is notorious in Spain for not having online sales) starting this afternoon. Tickets will be available on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until kick-off.
