Cagliari have added a new young midfielder: after Demi Akarakiri, arriving from Everton , the deal for 2006-born Swiss international Alessandro Romano, arriving from Roma, is now complete. This morning, the new Rossoblu player underwent a medical at Villa Stuart, the final step before signing his contract.

Romano arrives in Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy, for €5 million . Last season, he made his Serie A debut for Roma on January 6th against Lecce, and after his second appearance against Sassuolo, he was loaned to Serie B club Spezia, where he played throughout the second half of the season (nineteen games in total).

Romano's signing will be made official by Tuesday , partly due to bureaucratic issues, as Roma needs to complete some transfers between now and June 30th to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.
