For Tommaso Giulini, the Cagliari-Roma victory is a great result, but it must be a starting point. "We mustn't be complacent or over-excited by this good performance," the president tried to keep things low-key after Domus's 1-0 win . "What we put in against Napoli and must continue to do today, we'll be a large group trying to climb out of the bottom spots. After today's great celebration, I'd like the team to get back to focusing on their objectives starting tomorrow."
Giulini wants Cagliari to stay focused on their objective: "We have to work. It's a young project, with the choice of a coach who comes from the Primavera and needs to be supported, with many young players. We need to work even harder if we want to improve from within . We have eight players who have at least been through the Primavera, if not the youth academy: all of this is not easy."
"We can't settle," Giulini asks. " If we had been more savvy, we would have achieved something more . This is what we must aim for: I don't want to dampen the enthusiasm seen in the locker room, but we must do even more."
"I dedicate today's win to Mattia Felici ," Giulini added. "No one thought the injury would be so serious. Transfer market? Until yesterday , we were thinking about making some investments in midfield, but today's match will give us a different perspective. I'll have to reassess with the director and coach, after today's match and the ones against Atalanta and Pisa, whether these are the indications. The idea of signing a midfielder was certainly on the table until yesterday, but after Felici's injury, we still haven't considered whether to bring in a striker or a winger."
