After an abstinence of more than six months, Cagliari choose the right moment to regain victory away. The rossoblùs overwhelm Reggina al Granillo 4-0 and detach the Calabrians in the standings, arriving at the break with 45 points.

The Calabrians, inspired by the 16,000 present, immediately start strong and Radunovic, after 1', has to intervene on a cross-shot by Rivas. Then, however, Ranieri's team comes out, still lined up with the 4-3-1-2, with Mancosu supporting the Lapadula-Prelec couple. And it was precisely the Italian-Peruvian who unlocked the match in the 12th minute, when a poisonous cross from Azzi put Colombi in difficulty and the rossoblù number 9 was devastating to rebut on the net.

Reggina's reply came immediately, in the 14th minute, with a close shot by Canotto which was saved by Radunovic.

Then again Cagliari and again Lapadula, in the 16th minute, with a header that ends just over.

Lively match and in the 41st minute here is the encore. Touch with the hand in the Camporese area, the Var calls the referee Ayroldi who, after a few minutes, decrees the penalty. Relentless Lapadula, who displaces Colombi and scores 2-0. The first half ends like this.

In the second half, Inzaghi tried everything with Cicerelli and Strelec, two forwards, in place of Canotto and Majer.

Reggina starts with their heads down, but Cagliari controls. In the 14th minute Prelec asks for a substitution and is replaced by Millico. Immediately after, from a corner action, the referee sees a handball by Pierozzi and decrees a new penalty for the rossoblù. After a few clashes too many, Mancosu goes to serve and it's 3-0.

The third goal practically closes every speech. Deiola, Kourfalidis and Altare also enter, Radunovic closes in a corner on a diagonal from Gori and Lella is denied poker by Colombi. Which arrives in the 48th minute, with Zappa on an assist from Lapadula. It ends 4-0, with the same scorers as in the match against Ascoli and three heavy points.
