Exactly seven weeks ago, Saturday 14 December, Zito Luvumbo's last appearance on the pitch. The Angolan striker left the pitch in the 53rd minute of the match against Atalanta, after being fouled by Marten de Roon: an intervention, that of the Bergamo midfielder, which had caused him a sprain-contusion trauma to his left ankle from which he had difficulty recovering. So much so that, even today, he was unable to train with the group.
Luvumbo did individual athletic work this morning: this week he has been dedicated to re-athleticization, a gradual recovery to ensure that he does not push too hard on the injured ankle so as not to have further problems. But his return to the field continues to slip: he will not be there on Monday (8:45 p.m.) against Lazio, in the late match of the twenty-third day of Serie A. A delicate match for Cagliari, in light of today's success of Verona in Monza (0-1) and yesterday evening of Lecce in Parma (1-3). Now it is the yellow and blues who are third from bottom, in the relegation zone, and in eight days they will be guests at the Domus on Sunday 9th at 3 p.m.
For the rest of the team, today's session at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini was characterized in its initial part by technical work. The group then concentrated on tactics and game developments tested in view of Monday's match. Tomorrow, for the eve, training in the morning followed at 12:30 by the press conference of coach Davide Nicola .
For Cagliari, Monday will also be the closing of the transfer market (at midnight): the goal is to find a striker, after the official transfer of Gianluca Lapadula to Spezia yesterday (the striker came on in the 64th minute of the match won 0-2 this afternoon at Cittadella, making his debut immediately). Among the names that still remain valid is that of Dennis Johnsen of Cremonese, the team to which the rossoblù have sold Paulo Azzi.
