Tommaso Giulini is the final guest of the season on "Il Cagliari in Diretta," on Videolina and Radiolina. And, four days after the Rossoblu's triumph at the Meazza against AC Milan , there are many topics to discuss. Starting with one he particularly cares about, namely the confirmation of Fabio Pisacane, whom he sponsored a year ago, on the bench: "We share core values, mutual respect and understanding, as well as a love for Sardinia and this jersey," he explains. "Being able to continue together is the least of our concerns; his contract will likely be extended to a two-year term with an option for a third." And, in the meantime, there has already been an automatic renewal for another year after the club has secured safety.

Regarding the company, with the addition of a group of new investors that began last November, Giulini announced: " The certainty is that I will be president next season and that I will be the one to further improve this team, to make us even better. This year we finished fourteenth, and the goal for next season is to do better." With the transfer of shares, to give the consortium led by Maurizio Fiori the majority, the plan is based on "the capitalization steps of the special purpose vehicle for building the new stadium."

Regarding the stadium itself, Giulini doesn't want to give any timelines ("I'll leave that to the City Council, but we hope to be able to issue the international tender by July to meet UEFA deadlines"). The conversation then shifts to the transfer market: "We'll discuss it with Angelozzi; he was exceptional about the Palestra idea, which convinced me. The goal will be to improve on this season's 14th-place finish; we'd like to retain everyone who has performed well this year . But if a significant offer comes in and a player wants to leave, we'll replace them." What is certain, however, is that there will be a new captain following Pavoletti's departure: "Alessandro Deiola."
