Paul Mendy's positive start to the season with Cagliari has earned him a contract renewal. The young Senegalese striker, who came on as a substitute against Roma on Tuesday after starting in the previous matches , has signed a contract until June 30, 2032.

Born in 2007, Mendy arrived in Cagliari from ASC Bambey in February 2025. After starting out with the U18s and Primavera, last season he was brought into the first team and on 27 April, in his first game as a starter and a month after his professional debut, he scored two record-breaking goals in 8 minutes, decisive for the victory against Atalanta (3-2) at Unipol Domus .

Mendy has now made nine appearances in Serie A this season, scoring one goal (again against Atalanta) and providing one assist (for Maldini against Juventus). He also scored in the Coppa Italia against Verona and is a candidate for a return to the starting lineup on Sunday against Lazio .
