Only sporting director Nereo Bonato is putting his face on the line after Cagliari's controversial 2-1 defeat to Lazio . He is certainly not satisfied, and understandably so, with Giovanni Ayroldi's refereeing: "There is certainly discontent, disappointment with how the match was managed", his civil but determined protest for the penalty and the simultaneous expulsions of Mina and Adopo. " We are faced with refereeing that has penalised us excessively, especially in the management of the cards that were decisive, having led to two expulsions after the penalty . I believe that, in a quiet match, having eight yellow cards is impossible. I am the only voice of the club tonight to highlight a situation that was seen on the pitch".

Bonato promotes Cagliari: «The team played an important game, managing to recover from a result that saw us behind at the start. However, there was a management of the situations that we absolutely didn't like. On Mina's expulsion, the referee had his back turned and didn't even see him , there was a bit of excitement and he went to caution another of our players, who was sent off. It penalizes us not only in today's game but also in the next one, against Milan: we needed a bit more clarity on his part, the lads didn't have an attitude that would justify this».

Bonato and Cagliari complained to the League delegate about Ayroldi's refereeing: «We pointed out that the management of the match and the cards was not fair», he points out. «Also many situations on Luvumbo were not handled well towards us and this created an imbalance that caused the final result. On our part, with great education, it was right to point out our discontent». And on the penalty: «That episode is also very difficult to evaluate, the feeling is that Pellegrini is looking for our player who was trying to clear it. That had already created disagreements, what follows penalizes us too much: it is not correct, he went to rage» .
