Bologna has three starters back for Sunday's match against Cagliari. Nicolò Cambiaghi, Torbjørn Heggem, and Riccardo Orsolini were in the group this morning at Casteldebole, with the latter returning from his commitments with Norway and the other two with Italy . Only Jhon Lucumí is missing, having taken part in two Colombia friendlies in the United States (those missed by Yerry Mina due to an injury in Udine) and will be back in Bologna in the next few hours, ready to rejoin tomorrow's training session at 11:00 a.m.

The only injured player is Ciro Immobile, who is more focused on the trip to Florence on October 26th than the one to Cagliari . The striker has been sidelined since the start of the season with an injury and has so far been able to make a minimal contribution; today he worked separately. Also available is former player Ibrahim Sulemana, who Vincenzo Italiano has not yet been able to use due to a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee. He has been training with the group since Saturday and will be called up to the Unipol Domus—where he played in 2023-24—for the first time since joining Bologna from Atalanta.

Of Bologna's other internationals, Freuler, Vitík, Ferguson, Holm, Moro, and goalkeepers Pessina and Skorupski had already rejoined the squad in recent days. The latter's one-year contract extension, until June 30, 2027, was also officially announced today. Today's session included a technical and tactical exercise and a small-sided match. Casale may be deployed in defense in Cagliari, to rotate the squad, also considering Thursday's Europa League match.
