Sardinia was the region where on average less was spent in the week of Black Friday : “only” 77 euros each.

This was revealed by an analysis carried out by the Revolut financial app, which studied the consumption of its over 650,000 Italian customers during the recent reductions.

The island was thus the region that “saved” the most, together with Sicily (80 euros) and Abruzzo (84 euros). Figures below the national average, equal to 93 euros per person, in line with 2020 data.

The three Regions that spent on average the highest amount during the week were Basilicata with 198 euros per person, Emilia Romagna (128 euros) and Tuscany (124 euros).

Online purchases were also the lion's share this year, due to the increasingly widespread diffusion of digital devices and the fear of Covid: the preferred platforms at national level were Amazon, Apple and Zalando.

In the context of proximity shops and shopping centers, the customers of the financial app preferred contactless transactions, equal to 90% of the total. Last year, at the beginning of October - therefore before the closures that affected much of Italy at the end of November - the share of contactless transactions reached 84%.
