Silvio Berlusconi remains in the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, after being hospitalized again, this time in intensive care , for a respiratory disease linked to a form of leukemia , as confirmed by his personal doctor Alberto Zangrillo.

"The President has been ill with chronic myelonocytic leukemia for some time, in intensive care for pulmonary infection", the official note released by Zangrillo.

The former prime minister has also started chemotherapy and, from what transpires, the situation is said to be " serious, but stationary".

"Berlusconi's conditions are stable, he spent a quiet night," explained Forza Italia coordinator Antonio Tajani . « Today his conditions show an encouraging improvement compared to yesterday - Ansa learns from sources close to the former president - The form of chronic leukemia from which he has been suffering for some time - as the same sources report - however, would not be rare for subjects of the his age and is normally treated with minimally invasive therapies, allowing an almost normal quality of life".

The former Cav is alert and seems to respond to therapy, so much so that he has heard from party neighbors and greeted Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister Matteo Salvini by telephone.

Today he received a new visit from all his children, as well as from his brother Paolo. The latter told reporters: «Silvio is stable, he's a rock. His mood? Ours is good. He'll make it this time too."

Many messages of closeness arrived at the former prime minister. The news of the forced leader's hospitalization is followed by all the major international media . From the Washington Post to the Guardian, from Spiegel to France24, from El Pais to Al Jazeera and even on the Australian News.Com.au. and in the Canadian newspaper Toronto Star, the photo of the former prime minister appears on the websites accompanied by the same similar title for all: "Silvio Berlusconi, 86, is hospitalized in intensive care with respiratory problems".
