The control room met at Villa Devoto to give a signal towards the goal of fully implementing the 2017 Defense-Sardinia protocols , integrated and relaunched in 2019 and confirmed for a further three years last February.

Various agreed measures have been implemented, some state-owned areas and beaches have been sold or temporarily granted by the Defense, other infrastructures in the area have been enhanced also for business, cultural and tourist uses, military realities have been strengthened as in the case of the Military NCO School of La Magdalene .

As Solinas and Pucciarelli pointed out, other elements remain to be implemented or re-evaluated.

"The technical tables that will soon be set up and coordinated by the control room - specifies the Region - will be the operational tool to achieve common objectives in the interest of the Armed Forces and the Sardinian Region, in various fields: not only optimization in use of real estate of interest, through measures ranging from joint enhancements, for example in the energy field, up to the possible transfer to the Region of those no longer in use for military activities, passing through the study of how to allocate areas also for agriculture and to breeding ".

In the field of technological research, collaboration with the ministry is of great importance, in particular with the collaboration of regional agencies such as Crs4, Sardegna Ricerche, Porto Conte Ricerche. And then the technological project underway at the Decimomannu airport, which will become an international training center.

The presence of the military, it was said, "is to be understood as an opportunity for growth and development, also from an economic point of view". To demonstrate this, the many joint activities such as those on the occasion of the exercise with the Civil Protection called " Bentu Estu ".
