The Regional Council has backtracked, at least temporarily, on the €30 million allocation for the airport merger, specifically to allow the Region to have a 9.25% stake in the holding company that would manage the three airports if the merger goes through.
In Article 4 (Transport) of the three-year budget variation of two billion , the Council presented an amendment that moves the allocation from 2026 to 2027.
In practice, this buys six months of time. And the issue is postponed until the next 2027 budget law.
The Chamber resumed discussion of the budget at 3:00 PM, specifically with the consideration of the article on transportation. Approval is expected tomorrow night or Wednesday morning at the latest.
