Unlucky afternoon for Cagliari, who hit the crossbar twice and suffered their first defeat of the season. Lecce won 1-0, despite being down to ten men from the 45th minute after Dorgu was sent off.

Bad start for Cagliari: a bad back pass by Mina in the 7th minute sends Krstovic to the goal, who skips past Scuffet but waits too long to shoot and when he does he catches Luperto who saves almost on the line a goal that seemed certain. The response is from Luvumbo, in the 15th minute he steals the ball from Baschirotto and flies with a left foot shot over the crossbar.

Lecce scored in the 26th minute, their first in the championship: a corner move, a pass from Gaspar and Krstovic got ahead of the former Piccoli to tap it into the net from two steps away. But the Giallorossi were down to ten men in the 45th minute, with Dorgu sent off for a foul with his hammer foot on Prati's ankle (the referee had initially given a yellow card).

For the restart, immediately Palomino and the former Lapadula come in for Zappa and Prati. It's a siege at the start: the best chance is Azzi in the 54th minute, a header on a cross from the right and a miracle by Falcone. Lecce comes back in the 61st minute, a curling right-footed shot by Banda that goes just wide.

Nicola puts Viola (seasonal debut) and Felici (full debut) in the 68th minute for Deiola and Azzi. The last rossoblù substitution, amidst many time-wasters by Lecce, is Pavoletti for Piccoli in the 82nd minute. Shortly after, great play by Luvumbo and another decisive intervention by Falcone on his shot. Viola's chance in the 89th minute is also sensational, from the edge of the small area all alone with his left foot he hits the crossbar. Nothing else happens in the seven minutes of recovery.
