The song "Un tospo nel bosco", performed by Andrea Trullu, 8 years old, from Decimomannu (music and lyrics by Andrea Mingardi and Sandro Comini) won the award for the most radio-friendly song on Rai Radio Kids at the Zecchino d'oro.
Instead, it was “Diventare un albero”, a pop song sung by Anna Sole Dalmonte, 9 years old, from Voltana (Ravenna), that won the 67th edition of Zecchino d'oro, broadcast live on Rai1 from Antoniano in Bologna and hosted by artistic director Carlo Conti . The song - whose lyrics include Luca Argentero, with Rebecca Pecoriello and Nicola Marotta, music by Pecoriello, Marotta and Stefano Francioni - talks about the importance of experiencing the different stages of growth and was chosen, among the 14 finalists, by a jury of children and by that of the "grown-ups", represented in the final by Caterina Balivo, Elisabetta Ferracini, Bianca Guaccero and the hosts of the two semi-finals, Carolina Benvenga and Lorenzo Baglioni.
The tracks were signed by 36 authors, both experts in children's music, as well as actors, writers, producers and great artists, including, in addition to Argentero and Mingardi, Red Canzian, Johnson Righeira, Piero Romitelli, Enrico Galiano, Massimo Zanotti, Giulia Luzi, Thru Collected, Max Elias Kleinschmidt. The songs in the competition were performed by 19 young singers from 11 regions - in addition to Trullu there was also Elisabetta Obino from Sassari with "Coccodance" (Music: Piero Romitelli, Emilio Munda - Text: Piero Romitelli) - accompanied by the Piccolo Coro directed by Sabrina Simoni.
The new songs further enrich the record-breaking repertoire of Zecchino d'oro - 846 in total - loved to the point of exceeding 2 million 400 thousand subscribers and 2 billion 700 million total views on the YouTube channel and reaching over 100 million streams on both Spotify and Amazon Music. As in 2023, this year's edition - which saw the rediscovered presence of Topo Gigio every day and in the final of Ricchi e Poveri, with the unreleased preview "Il Natale degli angeli" - was titled "Music can": music can entertain, it can educate and it can offer support to the most fragile people thanks also to Operation Bread, a campaign to raise funds to support Franciscan soup kitchens in Italy and abroad with the solidarity number 45538, which through Zecchino d'oro made it possible to donate 120 thousand meals.
