"We've gotten to the point where our fans are taking the piss out of us, and that's enough for me."
Paolo Zanetti, coach of Hellas Verona, is furious with two days to go until the away match in Cagliari, a very delicate challenge for the coach who is on the grill.
Verona have been in retreat since Saturday, the day of the heavy home defeat against Inter, a 0-5 that came at the end of a dark period for the Scaligeri, who have lost five of their last six games.
"I'm willing to stay in retreat in June if necessary, until we get this thing back together," continues the coach, very agitated during the press conference. Zanetti also talks about the personal difficulties caused by the retreat: "I still have to go home from Saturday, I still have to see my children, my wife. I go crazy being in retreat, I have small children who ask where dad is."
On the match: "I'm not afraid, I'll do my best to put in a great performance on Friday. But I also need the team, we need to get something out of each other. And all our effort needs to be translated into action, chatter is useless. Otherwise people will get up and leave."
