Puglia and Austria on the top step of the podium of the 17th biennial international competition organized by the Blue Note Orchestra association (ABNO). The two days on the stage of the Sassari Conservatory saw the performance of the nine finalist pieces and the evening with the saxophonist and clarinetist Gianluigi Trovesi as guest of honor. The Sardinian Jazz Orchestra retraced his career in a concert.

For section A dedicated to elaborations based on Gallura's “Tasgia”, the piece “ Betsabea ” by Gabriele Di Franco from Puglia from Lecce won. An Austrian competitor, Tobias Hoffmann , a student at the Kunstuniversität in Graz, won the B section on an open topic with the song: “ Renegade ”.

Special mention for section B also to the piece “ Sam ” by Laura Giulia Veltri , Roman student of the Det Jiske Conservatory of Aarthus in Denmark.

Section C dedicated to the arrangements of pieces by Gian Luigi Trovesi was won by another composer from Puglia, Gerardo Pepe , with the song “ Gargantella ”.
