Zelensky said that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, currently on a four-day visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, "will back down again: it's his favorite sport."

"Everyone in the world has said that a ceasefire is necessary," the Ukrainian president concluded. "The only one who wants war is Russia. We expect no one to tolerate the prolongation of the war. We count on a strong position from the United States, Europe, and the G20 countries."
