Washington, shooting near the White House: two National Guard soldiers hit
Police: Suspect arrested, area safe

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred a block from the White House. "The area has been secured. A suspect is in custody," the DC Police Department wrote on X.
Two National Guard members were among those affected, Interior Secretary Kristi Noem said.
