"We don't think military force will ever be necessary" to get Greenland, according to US Vice President JD Vance, who is in Greenland, where he and his wife Usha and a delegation from the Trump administration visited the US military base in Pituffik.
"What we think will happen," he explained, "is that the Greenlanders will choose, through self-determination, to become independent from Denmark , and then we will have conversations with them... We do not think that military force will be necessary. And because we think that the people of Greenland are rational and smart, we think that we will be able to make a Donald Trump-style deal to ensure the security of this territory and the United States."
