USA, all flights blocked for 4 hours due to a computer failure

Flights suspended and airports down for four hours in the United States. It happened only after the attack on the Twin Towers in 2001.

The stop - US media report - was caused by a failure of the Notam, or the Notice to Air Mission, a system that uses it to send safety alerts to pilots.

These alerts are essential for flight planning and are used to provide real-time information on possible in-flight or ground-based hazards, such as runway closures, airspace restrictions and navigation signal interruptions.

Initially there was widespread suspicion of a massive hacker attack, an eventuality later ruled out by the White House, even though President Joe Biden has requested "a complete investigation into the causes of the problem" .

On Twitter , the stranded passengers shared several posts documenting the situation of chaos and inconvenience in all US airports .
