The U.S. Supreme Court on Saturday put a hold on the Trump administration's deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members under an 18th-century law.
Last month, President Donald Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to begin rounding up Venezuelan migrants in Texas accused of belonging to the Tren de Aragua gang, before deporting them to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador.
" The Government is directed not to deport any member of the alleged class of detainees from the United States until further order of this court ," the order reads.
