A convoy over 60 km long made up of Russian military vehicles travels in the direction of Kiev, and is already at the gates of the Ukrainian capital, an objective of primary importance for Russia and which is part of the assault strategy by Moscow. The column arrives from Belarus, and in the early hours of the morning it was already at the Hostomei airport, a commercial hub for goods and not for passengers.

The night just passed was very difficult, with the continuous sound of sirens, yesterday was a day of fierce battle and resistance by the Ukrainians in particular and Kharkiv, with Russian troops who would use cluster bombs hitting not only military sites but also civil buildings. There are dozens of victims, there is no precise budget. At least 70 soldiers died.

Prime Minister Zelensky spoke of a "real war crime", calling for the creation of a no-fly zone for Russian aircraft. But there is also fighting in the south, in Mariupol, Odessa and Melitopol.

All this while talks were underway between the Russian and Ukrainian delegation in Gomel, Belarus. They lasted six hours and if at first glance it seems that nothing has been achieved, in reality a first step has been reached: that of meeting again in 24-48 hours, after having made the point with the respective governments, and at border between Poland and Belarus. Meanwhile, it is hoped for a truce to allow civilians to move away from Kiev and other cities.

Ukraine has made its request for a stop to the attacks and the withdrawal of Moscow troops, Vladimir Putin instead wants the government in Kiev to remain neutral and for Crimea to become Russian. Finally, Zelensky proposed the immediate accession of his country to the EU.
