The televised debate boosts Kamala Harris, who strengthens her lead over Donald Trump ahead of the November presidential election.

According to a Reuters-Ipsos poll, the Democratic candidate has 47% of preferences against Trump's 42% , a higher advantage than the one recorded in the survey at the end of August.

Furthermore, according to 53% of those interviewed, Harris won the debate, while only 24% believe that Trump won .

It should be noted that national polls in the US have a relative importance, given that for the electoral system even those who get more absolute votes can lose the elections. It will be essential to conquer the key states, those contested between the two sides.
