The president and historical leader of the Tunisian Islamic party Ennahdha, Rached Ghannouchi, was arrested following an arrest warrant issued against him by the anti-terrorism prosecutor of Tunis.

An authorized Interior Ministry source told the official Tap agency, specifying that Ghannouchi remains in detention "for the purposes of investigations in a case relating to his latest statements".
