Trump sues BBC for $5 billion in damages
For misleading editing of his January 6 speech used in a documentary

$5 billion. This is the exorbitant sum Donald Trump is demanding from the BBC as compensation for the misleading editing of his January 6, 2001, speech used in a 2024 documentary. The lawsuit, Bloomberg reports, was filed in a federal court in Miami.
With this lawsuit against the British broadcaster, the US president is taking his battle against the media beyond American borders. In the United States, the president has long declared war on the media, repeatedly labeling them "enemies of the people," and has launched a series of legal proceedings against the New York Times, CBS, and his friend Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal, from whom he has demanded $1 billion.
