The US president is speaking just hours after the publication of leaks about the progress of his meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, according to which a proposal to cede to Russia territories that the enemy has not yet conquered, such as Donetsk, was brought up – and then overturned.

“We’re on the road to trying to make a deal,” Trump added. “If we don’t make a deal, a lot of people are going to pay a big price.”
